Heastroke is an emergency that needs medical attention as soon as possible. Even before you take your pet to the vet, however, you need to start cooling her body down by putting her in a tub of cool water, for example, or by applying wet towels or ice packs to her body, says Susan G. There is a difference between liver disease and liver failure. Liver disease is a general term applied to any disorder that is affecting liver. The blood tests in this case show higher levels of liver enzymes. Apart from fatty liver disease, which is a more common in cats, other types of feline liver diseases are caused by toxins from food and drugs, trauma, heatstroke and infections.

Otitis Externa is a medical term for a chronic or recurrent ear infection of the external ear and the ear canal. It is the result of a vicious circle of cause and effect. Poor grooming and unclean ears often act as an invitation for bacterial and fungal infections. Treatment is difficult as the anatomy of the dog ear does not allow the medication to reach the inner ear easily. Infection causes the skin lining of the external ear to thicken, which further inhibits exit of infectious fluid and entry of medications for treating the infection.

There are always some cancer cells in the body, which the body can effectively kill on its own if the immune system is strong. Despite this fact pets still develop cancers that need treatment. Cancer in dogs and cats may not be a very common condition but it can be as problematic and fatal as in humans. Pets cannot speak about the discomfort that they are facing and therefore, it is upon the pet owners and veterinarians to use their observation and knowledge to establish prevalence of, say, symptoms of liver cancer in dogs and cats among other health conditions.

Your cat’s teeth must be cleaned regularly to avoid dental diseases since the consequences can prove to be more serious as the problem ages. If plaque is not removed on a regular basis, it mineralizes and forms tartar, which can irritate gums and lead to gingivitis.
Untreated gingivitis can further lead to a more serious condition called periodontitis, which affects gums and bones around the teeth. The matter does not stop at offensive cat breath that mouth infections are liable to cause. Dental diseases lead to tooth extraction and can potentially spread further and affect vital organs like the kidneys, the liver and even the heart.

About healing
Healing after surgery or an accidental injury can be a slow and painful process for your pet. Depending on the extent of the injury or operation, this can take days or even months. There may be internal or external wounds and bruising – or even (in the case of injury) broken bones and damaged organs. They cannot understand what is happening to them or why and this makes it very difficult to see them in pain and often immobilized.
The physical process of healing involves restoration and regeneration of connective tissue, blood vessels and nerve fibers. White blood cells have to remove infection and red blood cells have to bring oxygen rich blood and nutrients to the surrounding area. Effective pain control will help to make your pet comfortable, prevent stress and permit healing rest.
