More and more people are realizing the many benefits of using Essential Oils with their dogs. Essential Oils help strength and regulate the Immune System, they assist with healing a variety of ailments and are helpful for emotional upsets. As with people, all animals are different, so what works for one pet may not be beneficial for another. Experiment with a variety of oils to see what will assist your pet. What is important is to use a high quality, pure Essential Oil.

Ringworm is not caused by a worm, but it is a type of fungal infection. Ringworm is highly contagious from human to human and even to your pets (you may need to have your pets checked by your veterinary - if they have ringworm do not use Essential Oils on them as ringworm in pets should not be treated with essential oils - most pets do not have the ability remove essential oils from their body - their livers cannot remove them. Your pets will need to be treated by the veterinarian) .

2 drops Juniper Oil
2 drops Lavender Oil
1/2 cup arrowroot OR cornstarch OR clay OR baking soda OR any equal parts of these

Directions:

Combine the arrowroot and Essential Oils. Crushing the clumps of oils between your fingers to evenly distribute them. Be sure to wash your hands after handling the pure essential oils to avoid any contact with eyes or delicate mucous membranes. Sprinkle on pet as a preventive powder.

Ingredients

1 Extra large box of baking soda
2 lbs Cornstarch.

Blend the following to a fine powder:

2 cups dried pennyroyal
2 cups dried Lavender
1 cup dried Rosemary.

The following essential oils:

20 drops Citronella
20 drops lemon
30 drops pennyroyal
20 drops rosemary

Mix all ingredients and leave the scents mingle a few days. Sprinkle on your pets Coat.

A soothing oil for the ears bothered by mites or when foxtails have been removed is Mullein Oil.

Soak 4 oz Mullein flowers in just enough Olive Oil to cover for 10 days in a glass jar in the dark. Shake or stir the contents at least once a day.

Strain and apply to the ear.

For Ear Mites, or infections of bacterial or fungal origin.

Mix Equal Parts:

* Mullien Oil
* Oregon Grape Root Oil
* Garlic Oil
* Marshmallow Oil
* A couple capsules of Vitamin E to act as a preservative and to aid in skin healing.

To use:

Apply 6 -12 drops to the effected area of the earflap or ear canal.
