It is too much to expect that veterinary science would know much about cat Cancer and dog Cancer especially when despite extensive research very little is known about even human Cancer. Till date no one knows exactly what causes cancer and how it can be prevented.

Feline Cancer, like human cancer is not easy to detect in its early stages and once the disease has advanced, cat owners are left with no option but to watch helplessly. The most that can be done is to delay the ultimate and provide home care irrespective of whether the treatment option has been exercised or not.

Feeding your cat and meeting his basic nutrition needs is one of the primary aspects of a home health care program. The matter may appear easy but can be pretty challenging. Just like humans, cats are also likely to develop an aversion to specific foods or food in general due to alterations in the sense of smell and taste.

Sinuses are air-filled cavities especially in the bones of the skull that meet nasal cavities. It is one of the many infections that can affect the health and behavior of your dog during a lifetime. Dog Sinus Infections are a common occurrence and may be bacterial, viral or fungal in nature.

Aspergillosis is a common fungal sinus disease that is caused primarily by Aspergillus fumigatus. Infection is usually in the nasal cavity and sinuses. Although it can affect healthy animals as well, a weak Immune System, a history of Sinus Infections, Diabetes and a protracted antibiotic treatment can put a dog in the high risk category for a Sinus Infection.

Aspergillus fumigatus is present all over the environment and a dog may inhale Aspergillus spores. This leads to fungal infection. Most Sinus Infections tend to be localized and remain restricted to the sinus or the nasal passage. However, the disease ranges from a mild form that affects only the surface of the mucosa to a more intense condition where the bones of the sinus are destroyed.

No one knows exactly what causes the cancerous cells in a dog’s body to go Out of Control and form Tumors or spread rapidly to other parts of the body. There are always some amounts of cancerous cells in the body, which the body’s own defense mechanism is fully capable of handling.

It is suspected that genetics and a weak Immune System are probably the primary reasons behind dog Cancer. Inadequate nutrition coupled with Stress, pollution, preservatives, additive and artificial colorings added to commercial foods can further compromise your dog’s Immune System.

The liver is involved in numerous bodily functions including those that help in filtering toxins from the body. As such, liver Cancer in dogs is the most common outcome of metastatic Cancer that initially attacks other parts of the body and spreads to the liver.

A badly trained dog is an annoyance and can even be a threat to himself and others. A correctly trained dog, on the other had, is a fantastic and enjoyable buddy. In addition to assisting you to bond, it can even shield your pet from being harmed if he pays attention and will come when called.

When teaching always keep in mind that dogs react best to encouraging backing– shouting at your dog and beating him will not get done the job, in its place use rewards such as goodies and your appreciation – this will make the job much more enjoyable for both of you!

There is a general “process” to teaching, no matter what you want the dog to do. They solution is to get the dog to carry out the act and at that precise instant give the instruction for the act, then commend the dog and reward him with a goody. After a while, he will get the message and connect the act with the instruction.

Your dog’s oral health is also an indicator of the general health of your dog. Many diseases in other parts of the body manifest themselves by certain dental or oral symptoms. On the other hand, sometimes dental diseases can cause other more serious problems and can affect vital organs in the body.

Dogs do not generally have cavities like humans. Dental disease mostly affects their gums. Gum diseases like Gingivitis are primarily responsible for tooth decay, abscesses and serious dental ailments like periodontitis.

Healthy dog gums are firm. They are just like the dog’s skin - pink, black or spotted. Dog teeth are initially white in color and tend to darken as the dog gets older. Initially 23 rootless baby teeth emerge. These are pushed out when permanent (usually 42 but much depends upon the breed of the dog) teeth start to develop.

Like cats, nobody really owns a ferret – they own you. But the question is, can you legally own a ferret in your city, state, or country? The answer to that question is varied, depending on where you live – and it is vital that you find out whether or not it is allowed before you adopt a ferret and form an attachment. It is very stressful for a ferret when they are taken away from someone that they have come to love.

Ferrets are legal in the United States, except in Hawaii and California, and some cities, such as New York City and Washington, DC. Other cities also have ordinances against ferrets, while some cities allow them, but require you to purchase a permit.

Abnormal cat behavior is usually associated with psychological Stress as cats are highly emotional creatures and react to environmental changes very quickly. At the same time odd behaviors can also result from an underlying disorder or infection. For example, if your cat suddenly develops a dislike for her litter box and urinates at odd places, more likely than not it is the first sign of an infection in lower urinary tract.

High frequency and difficulty in urination are the most prominent signs of feline Urinary Infection. The cat feels the urge but is not able to empty the bladder and is able to pass out only small amounts at a time, usually accompanied with severe pain. It perceives the litter box to be the cause of discomfort and starts avoiding it.

Cat Dandruff is common among diabetic cats. A study shows that happens in 1 in 200 cats have what is known as Diabetes mellitus (DM) and if you want your pet to get better, here are some things you can do.

The cause of this problem is associated with poor nutrition. So, instead of buying one of those generic brands of cat food, maybe you should change it and go for a food of good quality even if it may cost a little more.

You can also give food supplements whichcontain fish oil. Omega-3 Fish Oils have been shown to help correct the Dandruff problem.  This may also come from canned tuna since it is rich in 3 fatty acids that will improve their hair in about a week. Before you add Fish Oils to your cat’s diet, please consult your pet health professional.
