Did you know that dogs and cats need dental care as much as we do? Just as dental health is linked with overall health in humans, so is true with cats and dogs.
With Pet Dental Care Month approaching in February, it’s important that pet owners know that when proper care is not given to their gums and teeth, our pet’s body becomes vulnerable to disease and illness.

Nasal Tumors occur primarily in the nasal cavity and may later extend to the frontal and paranasal sinuses. Nasal Tumors form a very small percentage of feline Tumors and are less common than nasal cancer in dogs . They are locally invasive and do not normally spread but are almost always Malignant. They are not sex specific and usually occur at a young age.

With the amount of funds, time and effort that has gone into cancer research, one would think that it is high time that there was a permanent cure or vaccine to prevent the disease. Despite the enormous progress that has been made in this field, science is still far from a permanent solution for human as well as Canine Cancer.

Are you a dog lover? Do you live in an apartment or small home? Do you have allergies? A small dog with hypoallergenic fur might be the answer for you. “Hypo” is a Greek suffix meaning less or below. A hypoallergenic dog might still put out allergens, but at a much lower level. A few dogs that take up less space, making them better for apartment living, are the Silky Terrier, the Havanese, and the Coton de Tulear. These dogs are all considered of the “Toy” size by the America Kennel Club.

As most pet owners already know, Heartworm treatment for cats and dogs isn’t the same. Never, under any circumstances, should you give your cat Heartworm treatment that is designed for a dog – or vice versa. Even though you may own both dogs and cats, you should always give them medicine that is designed for their species.

Giving a cat a pill can be a nightmare. No cat wants something shoved down his throat, and he will fight you tooth and nail to prevent it. Although most cats are small in size, you’d be quite amazed with how much power they actually have. There are ways that you can get your cat to take his pills, which we will cover below.

While there are many breeds of hypoallergenic dogs, if you are looking for a dog that is unique, then you may want to research hairless breeds. While many people believe these breeds are made up of small dogs, this is not always the case. Medium sized dogs can also be found. Four types of hairless breeds include: the Mexican Hairless, the American Hairless Terrier, the Chinese Crested, and the Peruvian Hairless. If you are considering buying one of these breeds, you may have to search for a breeder online as these dogs are not as common as other breeds of hypoallergenic dogs.

The location of oral and pharyngeal cancer presents an immediate danger to the life of the dog. The growth causes an obstruction in the oral passage that is difficult to operate and excise.
Benign oral cancer in dogs presents a good prognosis as it does not spread and invade the bones or other tissues like Malignant Tumors. Benign Tumors are well defined and limited to an area while Malignant Tumors metastasize to nearby as well as distant organs of the body. Treating Malignant oral Cancers often poses a challenge to surgeons as they are difficult to access. There is aslo an accompanied risk of disfiguration as well.

The situation with regard to pet cancer has undergone a dramatic change. With advancement in pharmaceuticals and surgical procedures, it has now become easier to diagnose, treat, manage and improve the quality of the life of you canine friend.
To understand how Tumors and cancer in dogs start, it is important to first get an inside view of how your dog grows in size. Similar to the growth process of any mammal, the cells in your dog also multiply by division. This process starts right from the time when a female egg is fertilized by the male sperm. Over and above the replacement of the cells that die over time, there are new cells that are formed.
