The non prescription drug industry is a booming industry today. And this is as true for veterinarian drugs as for human ones. Manufacturers are trying to attract the attention of pet owners by making tall claims about age-old tested ingredients that their remedies contain. The potential of the market has attracted many fly-by-night operators. This has affected the reputation of some genuine marketers also.
The only way a pet can express his discomfort is through his behavior. The pet owner then has to get involved in the possible reasons for odd behavior.

Feline Cancer is one of the serious conditions that cat owners have to be cautious about. This is a condition that spreads across the body and can be fatal in most cases. Rapid spread of the disease leaves little scope for the treatment to be effective and therefore chances of recovery are low. This process of spreading, called metastasis is one of the primary reasons behind early death from cancer.

As in humans, skin is the largest organ in your pet’s body too. But unlike humans your pet’s skin is concealed by a coat that hides any changes that may be occurring beneath it. And though humans easily detect small changes that may occur on the skin, certain pet skin ailments can only be detected by understanding pet behavior.

Hi, You should mention that radio iodine treatment is effective for cancer in your latest email page about cancer detection and treatments. Our cat had a tumor and did not have hyper thyroid disease, but the specialist Dr. Michael Broome in Tustin, CA did radio iodine after the tumor was removed. She was cancer free for 2 yrs.

There are two ways in which Cancer Treatment in pets can be approached. The first is the conventional treatment, which is often tantamount to maltreatment. This is so because conventional treatment is insensitive and causes a great amount of suffering to the animal. Cancer Treatment is toxic and options like chemotherapy, radiation and surgery are beset with side effects. These side effects can be more dangerous than the disease itself.

Apart from the physical problems and medical conditions, dogs are liable to suffer from psychological problems too. It may sound a bit unusual but it is a fact and pet owners who have had to face Separation Anxiety in dogs are a standing testimony to its existence.
Separation Anxiety is only one such condition that sparks off abnormal behavior in dogs. It can occur when the pet is separated from the owner for the first time. It can also appear after a long vacation when the level of interaction suddenly drops once you go back to normal daily routine schedules.

Canine or feline Parasites are a potential source of danger for pets and humans alike. A single female Toxocara canis, commonly known as Roundworms, can shed up to a hundred thousand eggs in a single day. Humans, especially children, are exposed to these eggs when they are excreted in stools or vomit. On entering the skin they can cause visceral larva migrans leading to red, intense Itching eruptions in humans. Ocular larva migrans can even lead to blindness.
