Anyone who has pets will really like this. You’ll like it even if you don’t and may decide you need one.

Mary and her husband Jim had a dog, Lucky. Lucky was a real character.

Whenever Mary and Jim had company come for a weekend visit they would warn their friends to not leave their luggage open because Lucky would help himself to whatever struck his fancy.

Inevitably someone would forget and something would come up missing Mary or Jim would go to Lucky’s toy box in the basement and there the treasure would be, amid all of Lucky’s favorite Toys. Lucky always stashed his finds in his toy box and he was very particular that his Toys stay in the box.

It happened that Mary found out she had breast Cancer.

Something told her she was going to die of this disease…she was just sure it was fatal. She scheduled the double mastectomy, fear riding her shoulders.

Cats experience much the same symptoms as we do when we have a cold. They get snotty runny noses, runny eyes, Sneezing, temperature etc. And like humans they also are susceptible to the sinus and chest infections that are sometimes the result with a humans cold.

These infections are called secondary infections. It is important that when your kitten gets a cold that they receive the proper treatment.

Your cat cannot blow it’s nose, so you need to keep the mucous and discharge clean by wiping the nose as needed with a damp, warm rag or tissue. Be gentle!

Just like in humans, a Cat Cold will last from 7 to 10 days.

Many cats will also refuse to eat when having a cold. One reason for this is that cats like to smell their food first, and with a runny nose, it’s rather hard to pick up the scent.

Though sometimes would like to believe otherwise, food is a dog’s first priority, so the first step to successful training is to establish yourself as the leader, this can be acheived by showing him that he can only have his food at your discretion and command. Give him his dinner, allow him to eat for a few seconds, then take his bowl away from him.

Use an appropriate sound each time you do so, such as “leave” or “stop”, and keep the bowl for a few seconds.Provided he didn’t show any Aggression as you removed the bowl, tell him how ‘good boy’,give it back and allow him to continue eating. Repeat this two or three times during each meal for a few days, then once or twice a week for a few weeks.

So you have seen the vividly coloured Guppy at your aquatic centre and have decided they will make a beautiful addition to your community aquarium, indeed you are right, and the flamboyant colours of the male Guppy look stunning and are the easiest fish to keep in your tropical setup.

However there are some things that you need to know about Guppy’s before rushing off to buy them.

Guppy’s are live bearing fish which means that they give birth to free swimming fry, they also breed very quickly, imagine them like the rabbits of the water.

Once a female Guppy has mated she will give birth for up to six months consecutively, therefore you must have a large enough tank to be able to handle to the vast amounts of new fish that the Guppy will introduce to your tank.

As pet owners and lovers, we all have different needs for pet accessories. The fact that pet accessories are a necessity doesn’t change by the type of pet you have, only the amount and type of accessories will change. All sorts of pet, including dogs, cats, hamsters, birds and even fish, will require them in one form or another.

The purpose for acquiring pet accessories may differ from one owneer to the next. Dog and cats seem to be the pets that most likely will need them more, probably because they demand a little more of our time and attention, and we can’t be home all the time to keep them entertained.

Pet accessories and care for your pet virtually go hand in hand. We musn’t confuse pet accessories only with pet Toys however. Accessories for your pet may come in different forms such as pet grooming tools, pet Toys, Pet Beds and loungers, Cat Trees, pet Carriers, dog fences, pet clothes, hamster wheels and Dog Tags.

You have endless possibilities when setting up an aquarium of your own in your home. A fresh or saltwater aquarium can be a great addition to any room of the house, and you can create any environment you like using an array of aquarium supplies for your fish to live in. It is important to keep in mind that there are things to consider when first setting up an aquarium, such as the type of fish you would like to have in it. This will determine whether you want a freshwater aquarium or a saltwater aquarium, or maybe even a warm water aquarium. Tropical fish will require a heater to supply warm water, but geneally it is best to start with a cool water aquarium until you gain experience wit fish tanks. Besides, tropical fish are expensive, and chances are, they will die if you don’t yet have the experience.

Symptoms of UTI infection in pets

Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs) are uncomfortable and extremely painful. They tend to be more common in cats than dogs and can be caused by Bacterial Infection, Bladder Stones or urolithiasis (stones in the urinary tract).

UTIs often recur and can lead to more serious kidney infections if left untreated. Symptoms include

* Straining to urinate
* Obvious pain or discomfort when urinating
* Constantly licking their genitals
* Frequent Urination without passing much urine
* Urinating in unusual places
* Cloudy or bloody urine
* Fever and loss of condition

What is the conventional treatment?

Conventional treatment of UTIs will depend on the specific cause of the problem. In many cases, antibiotics are prescribed which invariably relieve the animal’s symptoms rather speedily.

However antibiotics tend to have a general weakening effect on the Immune System which can cause further problems, especially in the long-term and particularly if they are prescribed regularly for recurrent infections.
