Cat-ostrophic

Through the years, anyone who had a cat for a pet knows that they can keep you in stitches with the antics they perform. Here are a few amusing anecdotes I have collected.

Mushi lived in Germany during World War II and even though she was well loved, food was hard to come by. Table scraps, sausage casings and an occasional fish head was all she got. One Christmas season, after the tree was decorated, the lady of the house came down hard on her two children, ages four and six.

The first thing to consider is the size of your space. Do you have enough room to keep a large cage to house your parrot? You want to make sure that you and your parrot will be comfortable with the amount of room that you have.

Adapting Snake and Other Reptile Cage Plans to Suit Your Needs

Many if the people who make their own snake or other reptile cages adapt other designs or continue to improve on the designs they have already used.

When you adapt a cage design from basic plan you can use it to make a reptile or snake cage to suit your own needs. You may have a space that is not quite suitable for the size of the original design. You may want to adapt a half built cage, a closet or an old cupboard. You may want to make a specific length, height or width. You may have limited access to materials or you may have an existing stockpile of materials that want to use.

What Can We Do For an Ill Stray Cat?

Question:

We have a stray cat that is very thin and lethargic. It has been diagnosed as very anemic and antibiotics and steroids have been prescribed (but not yet given).

A CPB revealed nothing except the poor creature is not making red blood cells fast enough. It has been tested for all the normal feline diseases associated with anemia and its organs have been screened and show no signs of disease. This cat is dying though, because it has very little appetite.

Cancer and Your Pet

Just say the word cancer and any of a host of undesirable thoughts will pop in your mind- and with good reason. Cancer is one of the most common of diseases among pets and increases as the pet ages.

In dogs, the frequency of getting cancer is equivalent to that of a human being getting cancer. Additionally, it accounts for close to half the deaths of pets over the age of 10.

Though you may have confined your little tiger within four walls and provided it with the finest foods, you can’t take the jungle out of the cat. So, as an owner of a pet cat or kitten, it’s not possible to ignore its basic need to hunt. Fortunately for you, the act of hunting is more important than the actual prey. So, you can easily substitute the live prey with an inanimate toy.
